Story about 4 people...
|
Dear Friend,
Our lives are filled with the busy-ness of life,
and today, people more than ever, are quick
to place responsibility on others
rather than completing those tasks assigned to themselves.
Remember always that God gives us special talents and abilities
that are meant to be used to fulfill His work on the earth.
The Bible declares in Romans 12:4-6,
"For as we have many members in one body, and all members
have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and
every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according
to
the grace that is given to us..."
Be encouraged to participate in doing
God's work and know that you are
well able to do all that He asks of you.
I hope you are both inspired and challenged by this message
to not be passive when it comes to taking hold of responsibilities,
but rather do what you can with your whole heart
leaving the results up to the Lord.
A STORY ABOUT FOUR PEOPLE
This is a story about four people:
Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done
and Everybody was asked to do it.
Everybody was sure
Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but
Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that
because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought
Anybody could do it,
but Nobody realized that
Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed
Somebody
when actually Nobody asked
Anybody.

No matter what task comes before us
whether feeding the homeless,
driving the church bus or simply paying attention to someone in need,
let us do it wholeheartedly with the love of Christ
shining through our countenance.
Doing what God commands will both please the Lord
and bring a peace to our hearts
for knowing we are doing what's right in His eyes.
We cannot go through life hoping that a certain job
will be completed without knowing who
will take that responsibility on themselves.
Let us as God's people not wait any longer
for someone else to do it and let us do the job
that we know in our hearts needs to be done
whatever it may be.
The testimony that will be left behind
will greatly outweigh and outlast the job that was done.
(Luke 6:35-38) (Psalm 37:1-5) (Ephesians 6:5-8)
Read and meditate on these scriptures:
"Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory;
but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other
better than themselves.
Look not every man on his own things,
but every man also on the things of others.
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God,
thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made Himself of no reputation,
and took upon Him the form of a servant,
and was made in the likeness of men."
Philippians 2:3-7
"Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee;
and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee,
and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak:
for I am a child. But the LORD said unto me,
Say not, I am a child:
for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee,
and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
Be not afraid of their faces:
for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD."
Jeremiah 1:4-8
"So after He had washed their feet,
and had taken His garments, and was set down again,
He said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet;
ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
For I have given you an example,
that ye should do as I have done to you."
John 13:12-15
Jesus declares "Then shall the righteous answer Him,
saying, Lord, when saw we Thee hungered, and fed Thee?
or thirsty, and gave Thee drink?
When saw we Thee a stranger, and took Thee in?
or naked, and clothed Thee?
Or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto Thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them,
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it
unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto Me."
Matthew 25:37-40
