What does it mean to have faith?
Faith that would please God.
Faith is believing in what we can not see,
going against what our senses tell us.
Our Father asks us to think of Him as just that... our Father.
Loving, protector, wise, always there for us.
In this life of troubles and woes, that is sometimes very hard.

I was watching a little girl and Father at play
recently and the little girl had somehow climbed
up on a ledge, maybe 10 feet above her father.
He was there to catch her, and she saw him, below.
Yet, she was afraid.
Amused, he knew that she was in no great danger,
and called out to her to jump.
“Just jump to Daddy, honey.”
“I can’t... I’m afraid”
“It’s OK sweetheart, I’ll catch you.”
And she waited, and whimpered...
and finally she said “OK catch me”
and she jumped right into his arms.
He laughed and she laughed as he twirled her around
and finally sat her safely on the ground.
What had started out as frightening, had ended in joy.
The daughter was relieved
that her Father had not let her fall,
and the Father so proud
of his daughters' unfailing trust in him.
Do we have
this kind of faith?
How do we react when we find ourself on a ledge.
Must our Father climb up to get us,
or do we count on Him to catch us
as we jump into the safety of His arms?

If you, then, though you are evil,
know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father in heaven give
good gifts to those who ask him!
Matthew 7: 11
At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father,
Lord of heaven and earth, because you have
hidden these things from the wise and learned,
and revealed them to little children.
Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure....
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you
and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in
heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:25-30
He called a little child and had him stand among them.
And he said: "I tell you the truth,
unless you change and become like little children,
you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child
is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:2- 4
The blind and the lame came to him at the temple,
and he healed them.
But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw
the wonderful things he did and the children shouting
in the temple area,
"Hosanna to the Son of David," they were indignant.
"Do you hear what these children are saying?"
they asked him.
"Yes," replied Jesus, "have you never read,"
'From the lips of children and infants
you have ordained praise’
Matthew 14:16-21
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ
is born of God,
and everyone who loves the Father
loves his child as well.
