Abraham was the father of Isaac...

When the trials and tribulations of life come our way,
we are to remember that our God is still in control
and holds our life securely
in the palms of His hands.
Nothing ever surprises God
as He has knows the end from the beginning.
We should never allow fear to enter into our lives
because the Lord has promised
that He will never fail us.
We can never flee from His presence
so our attitude should be
one of trust and confidence.
(Isaiah 49:13-16) (Isaiah 46:9-10)

We read in Psalm 139:7-10,
"Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me."

Be encouraged to rest in the security of the Lord
and know that God is with you
and from His perspective, all is well.
(Psalm 46:1-5)

GOD KNOWS THE NAMES

I once heard about an old minister
 who was dying.
A young man who was also a minister
came to visit him
and offered to read to him from the Scriptures.

"Do you have any favorite scripture
 you would like to have me read?", he asked.

"Yes," said the old man.
"Please read the first chapter of First Chronicles."

The young man read the chapter of genealogies
with a labored tongue.  It was hard work
 pronouncing the some two hundred fifty
unfamiliar names in the fifty-four verses.
The old minister listened
with eager attention to every name.

When it was finished, he uttered a fervent Amen.

"Thank you, my son; that was so comforting."

The young man was frankly puzzled.
"Please tell me," he said,
"what is so comforting about the chapter?"

"Ah," said the old minister,
"just to think that God knew them all by name!"

The Lord knows us intimately.

He is our creator and as such
knows the capacity of our bearings.
He knows of our strengths
and He knows of our weaknesses.

We are to remember that the Bible says
the very hairs of our head are all numbered.

The wisdom, understanding and strength
of the Lord is immeasurable.
 The Bible says that God weighs
 the mountains in scales,
and the hills in a balance.

 What can be too hard for our God?
(Luke 12:7) (Isaiah 40:12) (Jeremiah 32:27)

Be encouraged in the Lord today
and know that He is with you.

The Lord has not forgotten about you
and promises that He would never leave you
nor forsake you.
Rest in the promise of His security
and rejoice in the fact
that God calls you the apple of His eye.
(Hebrews 13:5) (Romans 8:31-39)
(Deuteronomy 32:10)

To God be all the Glory
 for great things He has done.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

"He healeth the broken in heart,
 and bindeth up their wounds.
He telleth the number of the stars;
 He calleth them all by their names.
Great is our Lord, and of great power:
His understanding is infinite.
The LORD lifteth up the meek:
He casteth the wicked down to the ground.
 Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving;
sing praise upon the harp unto our God."
Psalm 147:3-7

"Rejoice in the Lord alway:
 and again I say, Rejoice.

Let your moderation be known unto all men.
 The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing
but in every thing by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:4-7

"Let your conversation be without covetousness;
and be content with such things as ye have:
for He hath said, I will never leave thee,
nor forsake thee.
  So that we may boldly say,
The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear
 what man shall do unto me."

Hebrews 13:5

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry
 about your life, what you will eat or drink;
or about your body, what you will wear.
Is not life more important than food,
and the body more important than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air;
they do not sow or reap or store away in barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not much more valuable than they?

Matthew 6:25-26
