A little boy made a little ship.
It was a truly a work of art,
and he had put many weeks of work into its construction.
When it was ready, he took it to the river,
and realized that it could really float!
He held the rope tightly in his hand,
but suddenly a strong wind swept the boat away
with such force that the rope broke.
The river was deep and wild,
and the boy knew that he had lost his ship.
After a few weeks, to his great joy,
he saw his ship again in the show window of a local shop.
He went to the shopkeeper and told him that the ship belonged to him,
and that he had made it.
But the man said,
“Only the person who gives me the price
I am asking for it will have the
ship.”
The boy went home crying and told his father, who advised him,
“I think you must try to make some money and buy the ship.”
The boy worked all of his spare time until he had enough money
and bought his toy back from the man.
With his ship in his hand, he came home and said,
“It’s twice mine! I made it and I bought it back.”
Can we trust the Lord Jesus,
who made us and bought us?
We surely can. We are twice His!

You were bought at a price; do not
become slaves of men.
Corinthians 7:23
For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.
Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit
has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God,
which he bought with his own blood.
Acts 20:27-29
For Christ died for sins once for all,
the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.
He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,
