Looks like Jesus really did come from family of little wealth

A couple of years ago, I began to believe that Jesus' family wasn't so poor after reading an article about the travels of Jesus and his family all the way to Jerusalem, and that the area of Nazareth was shown by archaeology to be a fairly wealthy busy area. It said families that made the trip more than once to Jerusalem had the funds. And Nazareth was found in recent archaeology digs, to have been a busy area with residents who were not at all poor.

But this Christmas in reading about Jesus' birth and his childhood, I see where Mary submitted 2 turtledoves for her cleansing rather than a lamb. In Leviticus, the woman is permitted to sacrifice the turtledoves instead of the lamb if she is unable to afford the lamb.

“If she cannot afford a lamb, she is to bring two doves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for her, and she will be clean.’””
