Wedding feasts lasted for days, so guests would come and go.  To run out of wine while the food was being served was a terrible calamity.  There were no local stores open to fill the need.

Wine is also a symbol for the Holy Spirit

You know I started studying the Gospel of John the beginning of 2010! It will take my whole lifetime I think, to finish it.

But here are some of my posts on this amazing part of the Gospel. Things I learned that I had never understood before. Like why the Lord started his ministry with a little miracle of turning water to wine. It seemed so...small, inconsequential, of no meaning.
