A lot of folks are sure afraid. They're spending tons of money to watch the asteroids.

Yep,

"A bolt from the blue!"

Problem is it can only be knocked out with a very large nuke. The only other way is prayer!

But I wouldn't concern ourselves to enthusiastically for The Lord will look after His own in my opinion!

Who for example is more qualified to throw them,  Creation or Creator I wonder,

There were probably ateroid strikes in the earth's history.

And one or two of them were massive.

The big one to mind is the Gulf of Mexico.  Gave the World a headache that day when it arrived I'll bet.

So far in modern times massive asteroids a little rare usually.  One in Russia medium sized possibly around the beginning of the Twenty Century wiped out a Forrest or two in Siberia they say!

Others tend to come down small size/meteorites.

We need better radar, I believer the astronomers are working on it.  Lots of people in America don't want the missiles/Nuke bombs sitting out in space to make the next big one's eyes to water when they go off in case they disturb their rest!

But if we are Christians we are not to worry about it after all the next boom boom likely is your largest volcano in the world going off!  Yellowstone Park!  Now that should be interesting, the middle of North America will look like the one that went boom in Ancient history times.  You know the east end of The Mediterranean!

But you must forgive me Ruth I think I may have a touch of the Sun.  Do you know I walked about in the Sun for a while without my hat on last weekend!  Makes ye dizzy yah naws!

But really before the next big one arrives we will have learnt how to steer the earth out of the way perhaps next time?

Doesn't the Bible speak of a huge earth quake that will move the Mount of Olives...

Wait, here it is:

“Watch, for the day of the LORD is coming when your possessions will be plundered right in front of you! On that day I will gather all the nations to fight against Jerusalem. The city will be taken, the houses plundered, and the women raped. Half the population will be taken away into captivity, and half will be left among the ruins of the city.
Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations, as he has fought in times past. On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives will split apart, making a wide valley running from east to west, for half the mountain will move toward the north and half toward the south. You will flee through this valley, for it will reach across to Azal. Yes, you will flee as you did from the earthquake in the days of King Uzziah of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all his holy ones with him.
On that day the sources of light will no longer shine, yet there will be continuous day! Only the LORD knows how this could happen! There will be no normal day and night, for at evening time it will still be light. There is a fault that runs through Israel and all the way down into Africa. That fault has been noisy at times, with quakes.

That one will move mountains!

PS.  I for one eagerly await The Lord's Coming Again but my eagerness must be tempered with common sense which says that the Earth has been changing with ice ages advancing from the poles and then receding again for millennial years without any help from the human-race, good or bad!

PPS.  Looking for signs not a bad idea on a dark winters night, but saving souls can appeal more so on a high summers night perhaps or viz. versa!

Zec (ESV) 14:4  On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward.

This is 90 degrees to the split in Zechariah. It is obviously not the same thing

Fault in your back garden!  Just make sure you are wake with your eyes open on a morning before you mow the lawn in your backyard!

Can't faults run east and west and north and south? Are they all straight lines?

Wow! Did you know the Hula Valley is part of the Great Rift Valley? And the Jordan and the Dead Sea?

I still think this fault could be involved in the separation of the Mount of Olives in Zechariah. There are so many tunnels and opening under Jerusalem. Bet that will have something to do with it too.

Although the Lord God doesn't need natural phenomena to do something, does he? Or does he?
