Hi All, Today's Archaeology lies in the Cosmos of Creation, http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/04/110428200820.htmhttp://voyager.jpl.nasa.govhttp://www.nasa.gov/voyagerBut not to worry folks after I passover and am raised at the Second Coming I will ask Jesus permission to travel forward in time, 40,000 years and take a look and bring back the answer for you! Say Colin,
How come all that stuff is not anywhere in scripture?!
Or maybe it is and we just can decipher it yet?

Humans 'discover' how things work and exist by throwing out little stories around what we find. We find differences in pressure and it's inside our solar system so we end up with 'heliosphere sheath' and 'magnetic froth'. I love it! It is neat those 2 Voyagers are still going and still sending back data.

Yes Ruth,
Never mind the Solar-wind but wouldn't they be surprised if they receive a telegram from space through the Voyages signals signed Jesus!
What stuff is not in the Bible David? Are you questioning the theory of the Bubble or the Solar-wind swirling around as it goes out into space?
You never know the Sun might be North Pole and outer space in the Galaxy could be South Pole?
The Sun has a Iron Core perhaps? Do all planets have an iron core? What about the moons I wonder?
But I am like that you know,
Colin.

I've thought that , too, Olivet.
But then maybe heaven is a dimension...
And it's all around us...
Just couldn't access it before...

Hi Ruth,
Good conclusion perhaps! I view Heaven as 'The Presence of God', Hell is outside 'The Presence of God!'
I wonder if He has some of His Angels still rearranging the stars in the universe, no not Hollywood but you never know some of them probably do need rearranging anyway?
One thing for sure as Olivet says, "Heaven is a place and probably located past all of this."
Well my conclusion on this one is that since The LORD Created all this from ZERO, it might be a useful assumption that Heaven was originally outside our Universe and The LORD of Hosts is able to enter in or stay outside His Heaven or or Universe at His own will and outside man made laws of nature anyway!!! .... !
Yours in His Everlovingtenderkindness,
Colin.
PS. We have three dimensions plus Time as fourth, The LORD'S dimension of time must be infinity! Mind boggling what!

Colin, I'm not questioning these theories, just wondering why they're not in scripture Two reasons come to mind: 1. The theories are just that. Theories. 2. It is written in scripture but we haven't learned to read it yet As for dimensions. Ospensky has an interesting theory about an infinitesimal number of dimensions: Space is three dimensions we all (think we) know about Time has three dimensions too: the 4th which is the linear time line we understand it to be. Then there is the eternal of each moment and lastly the possibilities of each moment on the time line. (You know... all that stuff about parallel worlds and so on) Dimension zero is a dot with no size in any direction. Then, taking all 7 dimensions to the next level, they all become a point or dot = dimension zero in the next level. Then we have the 6 dimensions again. This theory, while mind boggling does cover the Micro and Macro dimensions we have trouble keeping up with. Doesn't make an ounce of difference to the facts out there, of course, but for our understanding it could be something that clears things up or makes things muddier than ever. who knows? Anyway Colin, just threw that in so you have something to pass the long nights with David

Hi David,
Good thinking but I have just woken up!
Something else to think about?
Absolute Zero where everything stops dead!
Except the Serial Universe and The LORD of course, "Who said He never changes He is always the Same?"
Got to go to daughters cats, she is on holiday, the cats will have me for breakfast if I don't!
Yours in Christ,
Colin.

Hi David,
Yes we have a dot/fullstop with/from zero in the dimensions. Or a disc expanding in two dimensions. Or a sphere expanding in three dimensions of time!
Then again if any one of the three dimensions are accelerating instead of constant velocity we lay an egg perhaps!
But in any case this expanding universe might just go into reverse and all kinds of thoughts might just disappear up you know where!
Yours in Christ,
Colin.

But Colin, Between you and me and the kitchen sink, don't you just love juggling thoughts whether there is anything in them or not? Happy juggling What Ospensky had in mind was.... take a zero dimension "thing" and move it around....you get a one-dimension being known as a "line". Take this one-dimension and move it 90 degrees to itself and you get a two-dimension being, better known as a "Surface" Now take this "surface" or "plane" and move it 90 degrees to itself and you get.... right... a three dimension being known as .... hmmm... what would you call a "sphere", "cube" or any three dimension body? Now..... this is getting tricky..... Take this three dimension body and move it in space, or in maths, 90 degrees to itself and you get a time "line" This time line represents our concept of time (Not God's mind you). There is "past" "present" and "future" on it Now imagine this three dimension body on the time line at a single point on the line. We call this "the present" and this present is eternal in as much as whatever is happening is there forever even though we don't see it because we have already moved on down the time line So we have a time line made of of millions of "present" moments. Now take the time line and move it 90 degrees to itself and you get a time "plane". this could represent our life from womb to tomb with all the eternal moments on it. You could see these eternal moments as memories that exist in our minds even after we have moved on. Most of us don't see this because we are so used to seeing time as a one-dimension line. Time to expand our thinking. God allowed us this privilege. God sees it all, from "past" all the way to "future" and He is waiting for us to see it too But this is not the end. Take this plane and at every point on the time "surface" draw a line 90 degrees to the surface and what do you get? A three dimension time body. And what does it mean? The 3rd time dimension represents all the possabilities of any particular moment in time. For God, this 7 dimension being is just another of His creations. This created 7-dimension body is then taken as a point in the next level of awareness. That 7 dimension being is now a point or a zero dimension in the next level and everything starts from scratch. As you can see, there is actually no end to God's levels of creations How do we use this to understand various phenomena in our lives? I'll leave that for the next post I should give Ospensky a bit more credit than just a name: You can find this theory in a book by him called "A New Model Of the Universe" and I think in Latin it was "Tertium Organum" or something like it. Ospensky was a student of a one Gurgieff if I'm not mistaken David

If the eternal present is past, and no one experienced it, does it still exist?
To believe that would mean that the whole universe is subjective Subjective to our minds It's like the famous Koan: If a tree falls in the forest but no one hears it, did it really happen? Well, no one has seen God. Is he really there? Oh! wait... you mean does the eternity of any moment exist if we don't remember it? Good question. I guess I should ask Ospensky David

But on with Ospensky....
Imagine a tiny dot with no dimensions whatsoever. a Zero-dimension body Now we move it in space and it becomes a line. a one-dimensional body We then move it 90 degrees to itself and it becomes a 2-dimensional body We do this again and get a 3-dimensional body etc...etc with the 3 time dimensions
Now lets try the reverse procedure: Take a 3 dimensional body' lets say a sphere, and cut it, what we get is a cross section or a 2-dimension body If you cut a plane (2 dimension body) you get a line and if you cut a line you get a dot or zero-dimension body
So what?
Well, lets imagine a world of two dimension beings, something like bit of paper floating on water. The water is the world and the bits of paper are the beings in that world. Do you think they could ever comprehend a 3 dimension body? For instance do you think they could grasp the concept of an axis with two wheels on it? Could they "see" anything beyond their world, that is, could they see anything "above" or "below" their heads? Would they even understand these concepts? Of course not. They are 2 dimension beings, remember?
So what happens if I dip my finger in this world of theirs? They will see a ring, where my finger cuts the water. They will see nothing of what is above the water (their world) or under it.
So how does this mode of thinking apply to us? Well, don't you think this could explain the "Bermuda triangle" for instance, where things seem to appear and disappear with no logical explanation?
How about "The body of Yeshua" - the church as a body? If the human race is a multi dimension being, on levels we don't yet grasp, it would explain why we seem to be individuals, but let's go back to our two dimension world.... Let me put my hand into this world (water surface) in such a way that my 5 fingers are dipped in half way. The two-dimension beings would see 5 different rings or bodies in their world and won't ever know these 5 rings are part of one body in a different higher level of dimensions.
Now don't get me wrong. I am not saying this is for real but it helped me understand how ignorant I can be trying to understand such a high level being as God. And now, these 2-dimension beings suddenly wake up to a 3-dimension possibility. How wide is their world going to expand just understanding the possibilities involved?
And now take us human beings fumbling along in a 3-4 dimension world and just think of the possibilities of not only time and space dimensions but also smell, sound and touch and maybe more we can't even think of yet.....
The possibilities are endless and it shows something about God's creation. God being endless in time.... couldn't He be endless in all kinds of dimensions we don't know about?
Makes one feel pretty humble, doesn't it
So regardless of whether this is all just a nice theory or anything close to the truth, it does much for getting me closer to God, and dare I say, closer to understanding how much more I have to go before understanding the basics?
God gave us a gift of imagination. I can see why now....
David

Imagine a movie ... say Fiddler on the Roof ... and you are watching it on the Big Screen in your living room (before you go to the Mall to eat dinner) the entire existance of Fiddler on the Roof is encapulated within the movie their beginning - middle - and end it is the WORLD of Fiddler on the Roof You can start, stop, and rewind the movie at will (and it has no effect on your existance) But what if you could ENTER the movie and interact with it For example - pop into the barn to talk with Tevia as he laments 'If I were a rich man' While you would have entered and interacted with HIS existance HE would have no understanding or ability to comprehend YOURS YOU are a visitor into HIS dimension - HE still has no discernment re: yours and while YOU can still start/stop enter/leave HIS existance It in no way impacts or changes YOUR reality or YOUR 'world' I'm just sayin'

Hi You All,
I much prefer George Berkeley myself Berkeley (1685-1753). had a metaphysical inspiration it seems according to J.O.Urmson.
One of the main conclusions was that if you can not see it how do you know it's there/still there.
For example if you look up at the night sky you are looking into ancient, ancient history as it was at a particular time in the past and in fact half the stars in the heavens could well be a figment of your imagination there they were, gone and blown up. You see them according to Linear time at a specific tick of the tock but they fell out of the universe billion's of years ago really!
"Berkeley's thesis was a very rational one to adopt, and to show how ingeniously Berkeley developed it within the bounds of one of the most elegant, clear and simple metaphysical systems ever devised." [Berkeley:Past Masters. J.O.Urmson. OUP. Oxford. 1982. P1].
Another one of his thesis was that if you were able to look at the "commonsense assumption that bodies exist continuously, whether perceived or unperceived?" [As above Berkeley. Past Masters. J.O.Urmson. OUP. 1982. P40.].
His conclusions had to be that it was by Berkeley's faith that the stars were still there whilst we knew that time can mean that all things are not as they seem!
Jesus is important, therefore, because by faith we know that He is still there and not a figment of our imaginations when we do not see Him!
Yours in Christ,
Colin.
PS. like it David, Ruth, when people think but personally I think thinking hurts you know, what think you?
