Our village web site has been hacked by pro Palestinian activists

Got up this morning to find a picture of last years flotilla flag ship "Marmara" with a Turkish flag on it

Didn't take too long to get the site back on track, but it was a slight change in the "weather"

Here is what I managed to capture, plus a bit of my additions  Grin

Hey!  No harm done

They came for a visit and after a couple of hours we kicked them out and back to normal

If this is the worse they can do, we can live with it   Wink

Looks like we're having an exciting week...

Our carpentry shop burned down last night.
Electricity short they say but they also found a large hole in the fence around the Kibbutz, facing our friendly neighbors... you know...the ones we are suppose to love as ourselves  Shocked

Last night....

The morning after....

Hi David,

Not sure whether you have and use forensic out their?

1.  Particular attention given to the edges of the hole. (With a strong magnifying glass looking for saw marks?

2.  Where was the hole put?  No, someone could have moved it?

3.  Bit late now but tracking, strange footprints leading away from the scene?

First suspect!  The site hackers? (Hackers address left perhaps?).  Strangers enquiring? (Phone calls!). Your opposition has lost Syria/Lebanon perhaps and now need the Turk extremists to replace them!  Riots and all!

Yours in Christ,

Colin.

The word "forensic" alludes me, Colin

As for the neighbors we have. It's a Bedouin village about 20 times or more, bigger in number than we are. They are situated on a small ridge just above us, less than a mile away.
We have been neighbors since the beginning (around 1948) to this very day. Bedouin are traditionally nomadic Arabs and mostly Muslim. This particular village has been a settled village since 1948. They serve in the Israeli army which might need explaining. I personally did my reserve duties with some of them.
Good people generally speaking but they have a different way of looking at property. They easily regard any material stuff as a free-for-all. We have been plagued by their stealing for over 60 years now.

So, a "hole in the fence" is something we understand very well.

The police come and ask questions when ever they steal anything. A dead-end routine for the most part.

But, with the Arab world around us loving us so, we are quite happy that they are not in harmony with the Palestinian Arabs.

Yes I know, it's pretty complicated. Maybe some day we can go into that

Meanwhile, Grammy, material loss is the only loss we've had through them. We should also count are blessings, don't you think?

Hi David,

Criminal study of a scene of crime or object is Forensic Science!  Scientists can go into this study.  One of the first was Sherlock Holmes you know, an eternal one!

My spelling is right off this morning I am afraid.

The Bedouin where friendly Arabs in the old days, Lawrence of Arabia springs to mind WWI. stuff of my English History!

Yes that was one of their characteristic's, if it wasn't nailed down it would disappear!  They were the victim of the Turks and Germans, however, depending on who paid them the most for their loyalty!

I believe they were not part of the enemies of Israel in the 1940's, however, could be wrong of course!  More like our European Gypsy, Land and property rights not one of their strong points.  The American Red Indian is another example of this unEuropean view of Land as Common Land and owned by all, inheritance!

You would not expect them to tell the Israeli Police who did it, the fire I mean?  Strangely enough Lawrence and Empire, British Empire, found the Bedouin and Islam was a safe pair of hands to administer Empire!

Provided the British Army was numerically strong enough, your present security state?  The big example India and the results of Pakistan and West Pakistan now Bangladesh, our old civil serves gone wild!

Excuse the turn of language, I am still waking up!

Yours in Christ,

Colin.

PS.  Our Norman Aristocracy, The descendants of Norman English found that enclosure of the land was the only way to control their Saxon Peasantry in our history.  This side of the wall is mine that side of the wall is yours, does it ring a bell?

Rome got the idea from China, and so it goes on!

The Israelites did have a sense of inherited property in the OT. There was a law or commandment detailing the boundary issue that no one was to shift a boundary on someone's property or get in trouble- something like that.

Remember Nabaoth?

Colin....

Thanks for explaining forensic thumbsup

No you are not wrong. Most Bedouins serve in the IDF to this very day. From talks I've had with them, they actually hate Palestinians. Our border police units who deal with everyday situations to do with Palestinians are mostly Bedouin soldiers who pride themselves in this service.

We have surrounded the kibbutz with wire  fencing, some of it electronic. They still come in.

The reason is that the police are very lenient with them.
This in turn is caused, I guess, so as to keep them on our side for the big stuff.

Praying for your safety .

So after something like this, are more people around to guard the kibbutz?

There is so far, no physical violence involved. 60+ years of stealing with no violence says something on the positive side too, you know.
The guards around the kibbutz are the kibbutz members themselves. We've always had guard duty even if it's just for setting off the alarm in case of fire. They don't take people my age any more so I had to get a special permit from the doctor to say I'm OK for guard duty. What we do is roam around the place including the various fruit crops to set up a display of "being around", which seems to help quite a bit.

Well I don't know about where you live, but here in the states, you are in far better shape that many including me.
I don't ride a mt. bike like you , but I wish I could. laugh  In fact there is something about the govn. trying to pass a law about taking obese kids away from their parents.   Shocked

And yes we should see the blessings in all things at all times.

Our  states that border with Mexico , are experiencing a little bit of what you all have been doing for 60 years.  Only they have had violence..lots of of it.  Had a man who was shot in the line of duty( undercover drug cop) this past year, who my sons coached in sports.  Heart breaking and brings all this closer to home.

It is sometimes hard to believe but people everywhere get used to the reality they live in.
It's a built in defense mechanism, I guess.
Can you imagine the people living in places were stealing, mugging, violence, murder and rape are daily activities?
Hunger and natural catastrophes are a persistent part of daily life?
Amazingly enough people "get used to it" and by that I don't mean accept it. I mean they make the best of what they have.
It must be God's way of saying, no matter what trouble we get into through our sinful nature, we have the ability to overcome it, just by listening to that silent whisper of the spirit

I know, it's easy for me to talk. I am nowhere near that state of reality. When I think about how some people live on our planet, I feel pretty ashamed at moaning about any little trouble I might come across.
In the past year I've had my work car broken into twice. First time I heard them and ran out to see 4 young guys running of at a speed that wouldn't shame an Olympic sprinter. The second time I was too tired and they opened the car stealing a few 1000 worth of tools and equipment.
Annoying? Yes of course. I had smoke coming out my ears for a while. I slowly cooled down when I realized it was ONLY tools and equipment they took.

Einstein's laws of relativity work here too I guess  laugh
