Hi All,

I am about half way through a film on TV. on the life of Wilberforce and the English/English Empires bloody hands and the smell of death coming from the Slave ships!  Two hundred live slaves landed in America, four hundred dead who didn't land in America!

Before this film started I watched part of the dedication to the statue in Washington to Martin Luther King!
Another Chapter of the book of life and death started by Wilberforce and his Prime Minister Pitt!

I watch and listen too man's inhumanity to man/women/children and feel a dagger still reaching into my heart over this part of my beloved history!  It makes you weep you know!

But through the smell of death and the remembrance of the hero's who gave their life's work to this end of slavery for money/gold, Amazing Grace shines through!!! .... !

Amazing grace - how sweet the sound - that saved a wretch like me! [Colin2000]!
I once was lost, but now am found,
was blind, but now I see.
[I have it as hymn 31 Mission Praise and lots of other places in my Church Hymnals too]
[John Newton an ex-slave ship Captain and later English Church Minister/Priest, (1725-1807), wrote it for me even today a hymn/prayer of Confession!]

Jesus loves a sinner who confesses and turns from his evil path onto the Narrow way of Christ's redemption through this mortal life of ours.  Do you feel that deep warm feeling too when you turn to the LORD!

Back to the film folks, it is a good job that my studies in English Church History left something in my mind anyway!  Wonderful Jesus, wonderful LORD, Saving Grace Himself, how sweet the sound!!!.... !

Yours in Jesus The Christ, Saviour of my Soul,

Colin2000.

PS.  Well the Film on Wilberforce and Pitt has ended and I am glad to say that I can still as an Englishman shed a tear, a natural tear for not only Wilberforce but all those from around him and the people of Britain who rallied to the cause of the abolition of the slave trade under all the Empires flags and particularly the American one in the actual abolition on the Seven Seas!

With King virtually ending/beginning of the end of this dreadful chapter in American History finishing with their present President!!!....!

For me The Hand of Jesus The LORD was also in this remarkable event in our shared history of Mankind in this rebellious Human-race even unto today and in this great historical film!  I must add here also the heart rendering events where so many slaves just died in human circumstances!  That man can do such inhumanity to man leaves me speechless and standing with nothing in front of The Feet of Jesus.  But Jesus has the victory!  Amazing Grace indeed!

A reminder how right thinking Christian men/women/children can still witness against the evils of religious liberalism, socialism, and most any other national cuckoo party who walk this over crowded earth of ours today!

Yours in Christ and His Amazing Grace,

Colin.
