Hi All,

Some thoughts on one aspect and result/violent change in a state after Revolution has taken place!

Which revolutions in modern history has resulted in the deaths/wholesale-deaths afterwards I wonder?

1.  The French Revolution, 1789.

2.  The Russian Revolution, 1917.

3.  The Arab Revolution in the name of democracy 2011.

Here we have three key violent revolutions where the ruling parties were eliminated after it's successful completion!

Is it a human characteristic in violent change of administration to remove violently the old opposition in such circumstances?

The answer appears to be yes!

Gaddafi is the latest state murder in the name of Freedom!

Then we also have in history, eugenics, in the following,

1.  The Indian Partition into India, Pakistan, Ceylon in The British Empire? An aside The Red Indian in America too!

2.  The American Revolution in The USA. perhaps, yes-no?

3.  China and it's elimination of freedom by the Communist Mao?

And so it goes on now in Arabia following the West's example in Two world Wars, Arabia itself in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the World of the Arabia in General perhaps!

What do you think folks?  When and immediately after a revolution it is always common policy to eliminate the opposition physically and violently!

My mind turns to The American Revolution here as a model to the elimination of The Old Empire from America too?  Was there much blood letting in your Revolution I wonder.  Maybe not for we could and did withdraw over the borders into Canada and British Empire Colonies in South America too!

Hidden Eugenics coupled with Christian Moral Ethic as a control or an instrument of power!

Yours in Christ,

Colin2000.

PS.  Just a few fires lit here, even The Homosexual Revolution by the few in the elimination of the many,  plus abortion and the degradation in the internal economies within a state-power with its change in Moral Ethic, perhaps?  Abortion can not be left out of this either of course and The sadly sinking Christian Ethic!

A revolution comes about usually when people have "had enough"

"Had enough" of what?

Usually they have had enough of having their basic human rights degraded or abolished by another group of people who are usually the ruling class or section of society.

If the group being oppressed would be left to do their thing there would be no bloodshed. Trouble is the fact that they are oppressed is a sign of the oppressing group's "need" for this oppression.
But why not check the history in old days, such as the people who were later to be God's chosen, who were oppressed in Egypt for over 400 years.
There was no way that Pharaoh was going to let them go and even after the 10 plagues, which were bad enough, they tried to stop them with the whole Egyptian army. Only the intervention of God's army saw the end of that episode.
It cost the Egyptians their ruler and whole army!

Exo 5:2 (ESV) But Pharaoh said, "Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice and let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, and moreover, I will not let Israel go."
Exo 12:29 (ESV) At midnight the LORD struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock.
Exo 13:15 (ESV) For when Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of animals.
Exo 14:14 (ESV) The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent."
Exo 14:28 (ESV) The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen; of all the host of Pharaoh that had followed them into the sea, not one of them remained.

So as is written in Ecclesiastes "there is nothing new under the sun"
Ecc 1:9 (ESV) What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.

The American Revolution was fought over property rights and the quiet enjoyment thereof
which flows from the understanding of the value of one's labor.  See the writings of John Locke and Thomas Jefferson. To understand this idea is revolutionary in that all rights flow from it, that the state's control over one's property rights was abhorred by the framers of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights .  This protection was vested in Congress and not in the courts and it appears that our Congress has been most derelict.
