Hi All,
At two am. in a few minutes time the large atomic clock somewhere in the depths of England will have a sixty minute hiccup and go backward an hour at the speed of light or something like that!
So folks are we lost in the darkness of that hour or are we saved in reverse?
Just some thoughts on man's tampering with time so we the English do not fall down that dark hole in the ground called sin in front of us!
The Scots and the Welsh will have to look to themselves for an hour while reason prevails perhaps?
But isn't The LORD wonderful, America will not crash into the Atlantic until tomorrow,
Colin.
PS. Do Americans tinker with time too the little tinkers?

Colin Actually you are further north than we are...I think we are the same latitude as Fatima Portugal. We need to take vit D supplements in the winter, milk is a no :fridge:no it makes you fat...look how big and fat a calf grows in one year on mommy cow's milk, even fat free milk is fattening. BRRRRR...grey skies, cold, ice, frozen snow. But it is only less than two months from Christmas to Valentine's Day (St. Valentine for me.) The days are longer and green spots appear in protected areas

The primary make up of milk is SUGAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lactose. Sugars come in fructose, sucrose, lactose. It's sugar that makes you fat! It eventually gives you diabetes. And it eventually coats your arteries with junk that closes them off. sugar. It's poison. Better to eat more proteins and fats.

Hi Ruth,
Then of course continuing from your last piece of logic we must ask ourselves, "What fats?"
Cholesterol today appears to me to be the latest doctor' fad, It used to be lets have your tonsils out and open the door to good healthy virus'!
Then there was the case of lets remove the thyroid it was slowing us down you know. Removing our thyroid did solve the problem of tiredness, it killed us!
Now we have all sorts of vaccines but the medical establishment doesn't seem to tell us the percentage of deaths caused by good socialism, vaccination! Could this be the new philosophy I wonder.
Salt, for example, if you do not take into your body salt, apart from the fact without salt, again you will die and it tastes horrible, food of course?
We have smoking which keeps the rest of us healthy who don't smoke! But it is a good form of medical control by the witch-hunters!
Alcohol, The magic formula of life? Good for taxing us out of house and home of course must be protected from the doctors too!
But not to worry they have always got oil-tax and energy-tax to get at our savings in the name of green, it makes you go green around the guiles you know!
Yours in His wonderful man-made Creation,
Colin.
PS. Just a little something for that Monday Morning feeling come whinge, Ruth!

How does cheese compare with milk or butter for that matter.
I think the supermarkets are conspiring to kill us.......with bakery goods.. which are displayed at the entrances, check outs and in their dep't as well.
So few sugar free to choose from and over priced while their cakes and pies are more like candies...too sweet......I query them asking if they want to kill me by putting me into diabetic shock..and then ask the deli if they continue to add sugar to their potato and macaroni products...well they look at me as if I am a nut and never catch on.

I love your early morning whinge, Colin. Can you look up the heart attack rate before 1900? I understand there were very few heart attacks... Hmmmm and I wonder why?

Heart attack before 1900, not yet found Ruth,
But reasoning your question I have read recently that we ate a lot of animal fat with our pig/sheep/cow meat then which was good cholesterol and didn't leave the grunge in our blood vessels. It also ate up all the bad fat-cholesterol too!
So mother nature did the heart defending then. Then the farmer was encouraged to breed this natural animal fat out of the animals. I was very glad they did for I hated fat in the thirties/forties onward! Shall I blame my high blood pressure and my dickey dickey on the farmers I wonder?
Or could it have been that German bomb that blew our kitchen window out right in front of me one night in 1942! It was a wonderful sight as it, the window, went in and out six or seven inches as though it were liquid before it broke and shot across the yard all by itself! Mind you my mother was not a happy lady that night. Even when she was safe sitting in our bomb shelter.
I just could not resist having my head out of the door of the shelter that night better than the 5th. of November display any day!
Yours in Christ,
Colin.
PS. Then I was a young fool not like now, an old fool. Seventy-five and party time you know. The Government is going to give me my TV. licence money back you know, oh happy day when Jesus took my sins away!

From what I've read, the heart attack rate began to sky rocket when refined sugar become plentiful. (early 1900's)
And it continued to go up up up as sugar was used more in foods more and more and more.
You're right, though. Everyone ate loads of animal fat before 1900.
Interesting, huh?

Here Colin: http://www.fi.edu/learn/heart/history/history.htmlBefore 1900, very few people died of heart disease. Since then, heart disease has become the number one killer in the United States.

Switching saturated fatty acids for carbohydrates with high glycaemic index values shows a statistically significant positive association with the risk of myocardial infarction[35].
Other studies have found links between high fat and high glycaemic index carbohydrates accelerates the development of cardiac pathology and pump dysfunction in hypertension despite no signs of diabetes and only a modest level of obesity, suggesting that the link between obesity and coronary heart disease should be shifted towards macronutrients and the the high glycaemic load typical of the "junk-food" diet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar

I read an article decades ago that refined sugars aged you, so I immediately stayed away, breakng my fast from sugars on special occasions . But society has found other ways to trick you like high fructose corn sugars in your rye breads and hidden in other foods you never dreamed of with the idea of addicting you tp their products and preserving their shelf life, nice trick . Now I have learned that stress of the constant or severe variety can be worse than sugar for your healh, doing the same damage , but at least it is not a life time of the sugar blues
