I've been contemplating the meaning of miracles and came up with something I didn't quite expect:

A person with strong faith does not need any proof for it.
Miracles are some kind of proof for our faith.
Stands to reason that miracles belong to people with little faith

How does this sit with you?

David

Miracles are all around you, take a look at yourself.  You can also pray for the gift of miracles if someone you know is in need of a miracle healing.  Christians lead natural and supernatural lives and God works through both yes yes

I guess I should clarify...

God works miracles!

If we depend on them, then we show less faith

If I trust God I will trust He will use whatever method He wishes, which can include miracles of course

I agree, David.

I have come to believe that miracles and signs are for those who right now, do not believe.

Jesus used miracles to show who he was, I think. He also used them to symbolically show what he was here to do.

God used real miracles in my life when I was looking for 'god'. He showed me my prayers were answered and was so active in signs for my benefit that I realized there was no other truth. God showed himself to be GOD to me. I had no other choice but to follow him. The miracles and signs are less active in my life now but He affirms he is with me in many ways.

I agree with you, David.

It's not that I don't believe in miracles.
Like you RA, I believe God uses them in our lives for His purposes but I don't think He intended us to depend on them

As for miracles... a 120 mm mortar shell exploding about 50 cm away and ending without so much as a scratch... I would categorize that as a miracle...yes, definitely

Hi All,

When you enter the state of Salvation through the Miracle of Belief, miracles can appear to you in your enlightenment as normal after that!

For Jesus is a miracle working GOD!

Example:  "I wake up in the mornings and no longer thank The LORD because I now expect too!"

Of course tomorrow He might surprise me when I don't wake up in the morning!  Exciting isn't it?

Yours in Christ,

Colin.

PS. A mortar landing next to you David,  we used to thank the Poles for that when they supplied it with a defective fuse whilst they were working for the Germans!

PPS.  How do you spell 'miracle', now that would be  a miracle at this time in the morning.

"Miracle of Belief"

Oh yes, Colin, that for me is a miracle for sure
If I was doing my own thing I would be a super-Atheist today!
