To my mind we should be treating all human beings with welcome and respect, not just those who we know or who have money or have the fortune of being a "celebrity" or happen to be in a powerful political position etc'......
God made us (all human beings) in His image which should be the incentive for our respect to others
Mary was blessed, no doubt, but that in itself doesn't make her holy.
I have 12 grandchildren. I feel very blessed but sure don't feel holy!

You have to be careful David,
Being Holy means having your nose high in the air you know, you fall down holes that way too!
Yours in Christ,
Colin.

I guess there are degrees of holiness Colin and moments of holiness and we are probably being most holy in God's sight when we least feel it, look at the martyrs. Yes David, we are to treat one another with dignity and respect as we await the coming or Advent of our Lord not just celebrating the first coming, but also His second coming

Yes, colin, holy in one's own eyes is a nose raising experience but we can be holy whether we like it or not, as Olivet mentioned, in God's eyes

Hi All,
It is The first Sunday in Advent and three candles lit in Church this morning, my Church says so so it must be right!
So I hope Jesus will take the hint and come, now that would be a shock to the system wouldn't it!!! .... !
Yours in Christ,
Colin.
PS. Did you know there is a presidential candidate in America who says someone has invented the Palestinians! I have polished my crystal ball but can not see who it was who invented them. We have the Scots and God only knows who invented them?

David,
It is the first Season of The Church Year when we await and remember the advent of the coming of Christmas, Jesus' official birthday.
Christmas is the first Greater Festival of The Christian Calender! A holiday in Christian Countries!
The atheist and secular groups in such as England are trying hard to destroy it and the memory of what it stands for!
Yours in Christ,
Colin.
PS. Christmas Day a fixed date festival of Christianity, 25th. December. What happens in the Jewish Calender on the 25th.?

Christmas.... at least I know that one (Who doesn't?) Our Hanuka is around this time of year although using the Jewish calendar it varies. Something I find interesting: Hanuka is the festival of lights. Yeshua is THE light. Some day we will all celebrate the same light!

Today we light three Advent candles in my church, the Scriptures center on the First Coming of Jesus in Bethlehem of the City of David and center on the Second Coming. Advent comes from the Latin word meaning coming or to come. It is a time of inner reflection in preparation for His Coming
