I thought it would be interesting to find out what the weather is like in each others part of the world.

Our mild winter has finally come to an end. For the past couple of days it has been fine and clear during the day but very sharp frosts at night. It went down to -6c (21f) last night. No snow so far.

Ah.........
Talking about the weather  laugh
Saundthorp, you must be British, no?

Well, Israel winter is like some countries summer. We have had a very dry December but very cold too.
Past few days we can see snow on top of our Northern mountain (Hermon)
A good rain season for us would be around 500 mm all told

We are seriously considering banning the weather all together but having to go through committies it will take another 100 years

hahaha, David, you're so funny!!!

It was 10 degrees F here this morning.

We had about 3 inches of snow Thurs through Saturday and high winds so the drifts were deeper. Horses wore their warm snuggly blankets for the occasion.

Another clear, bright and frosty morning again today. A mild couple of days with some rain has been forecast then it is expected to go cold again. Still no snow on the horizon.

53 here today. Rain for 24 hours.

Now very windy, rain stopped, temps dropping like a rock. It's supposed to snow tonight.

The weather had been very strange for January. It should be cold and snowy. Not warm off and on and rainy.

Cold, yes. they are even threatening us with drops of snow

but cold here means under 10C  -  Zero is a cause for celebration

So you actually have some mud, David?

Oh yes. In fact I just made up a fresh batch
Ingredients are:
1 bucket black soil
Half bucket of water
Mix well for 5 minutes
Go relax with a cup of tea

Note: It will not work with sand!

I meant, has it rained? I think the rainy season is until September? Or do I have that backward. Dry in January?

Weather here is just weird. It's been unseasonably warm. Any snow has melted inside of 3-4 days. Temps are going from 16 to 59 and back down in the teens again tonight. Then warmer again the rest of the week. Lots of wind.

Guess I shouldn't complain. We could be socked in with snow!

September is a  bit early. That is when we pick the cotton and cotton cannot be picked when over a certain % of moisture in it.
September is a race against the weather. After cotton is picked, the plants are cut up and then we try and get the deep plowing done. All this before the rains. Rain usually starts at the time we sit in the Sukka (Tabernacle) for a week. You see, rain is sneaky that way.
The good rains are November, December and January....February too , then spring knocks heavily on the door and a green explosion turns everything green and other colors. Nature at it's best.

Freezing rain, that must make life difficult for getting about. I have only experience it once when I was in the RAF stationed in France. The temperature was well below freezing but it started to rain and within 30 minutes everywhere had a covering of ice, the roads, the sidewalks, the trees, it was quite incredible.

Equation: F=C*9/5+32 . . . . . . . . (F=Farenheit, C=Celsius)

Or....

Type in google: "4 Celsius in Fahrenheit",  Result: "4 degrees Celsius = 39.2 degrees Fahrenheit"

Or....

Use this excel table. Takes about 5 minutes to put together

The mild winter here in the UK shown no sign of coming to an end. Had another day of daytime temperatures reaching 10c (50f). It has been very stormy today with some rain. Where has the snow gone. I like a bit of snow!

Yesterday we had close to Zero (32F) and in high places there was snow.

Any drop of snow here is a cause for celebration, skipping school, work and almost everything normal

The Hermon mountain in the North, the only ski resort we have, was packed, as were the roads leading to it.

Oh, nearly forgot....it was pretty cold too  laugh laugh laugh
